PENFED CREDIT UNION

Mclean, VA

General Contractor: HITT Contracting
Architect: Gensler

PenFed in McLean, VA is the epitome of corporate interior office envy.  As the WBC Craftmanship Award recipient, the PenFed Headquarters occupies floors 8-11. In coordination with HITT Contracting and their corporate interiors team, Gaithersburg Architectural Millwork, did not disappoint when bringing Gensler’s design to life.

Gaithersburg Architectural Millwork used incredible precision and attention to detail in executing the design elements for the Pentagon Federal Credit Union Headquarters project. The highlighted work begins with the monumental staircase, featuring Quartered Walnut connecting stairs with solid Walnut treads, inlaid stainless steel accents, a solid Quartered Walnut landing, and Walnut veneered wrapped stair stringers. The project also features over 1,100 square feet of Quartered Walnut floor-to-ceiling end-matched wall panels with integral reveals and base, 960 square feet of high gloss, floor-to-ceiling wall panels with integral reveals and base, and two uniquely designed cabinet elevations that incorporated sliding back painted glass sliding doors, sliding Walnut doors, high gloss lacquer, and stone.
